Reading and writing
Text messages, notices, a letter and a short article (20 questions), then a 25–35-word reply and a 60–80-word email.
Structured courses in the Portuguese of Portugal for anyone who needs the A2 certificate for nationality or residence. Start from zero with A1, or go straight to the exam with A2. Every lesson, mock exam and speaking drill follows the official CIPLE format.
Every lesson trains a real CIPLE task: notices, text messages, short articles and the two texts you write on the day.
Portugal's Portuguese, not Brazil's. Station announcements, phone messages and café chats, each played twice like on exam day.
Tell us your exam date. Prova builds a week-by-week plan, and words come back for review right before you forget them.
Two timed mock exams and a readiness score for each part show you when to book. 55% is a pass.
The A2 exam run by CAPLE at the University of Lisbon and its partner centres. Prova trains each part in its real format.
Text messages, notices, a letter and a short article (20 questions), then a 25–35-word reply and a 60–80-word email.
Dialogues, announcements and phone messages, each heard twice. Then 10 short questions to match to the right reply.
Usually in pairs and filmed. Talk about yourself, act out an everyday situation, describe a picture and give a simple opinion.
Tap any step to jump in. A mock exam waits halfway and another at the end.
Words, grammar, practice, reading, listening, writing, speaking and a short test.
Start unit 1From first words to A2: basics, reading, vocabulary, everyday situations and listening. At the end we tell you which course fits you.
A quick guide, not an exam mark. Writing and speaking are covered in the course.
Prova isn't the only route. Pick the one that fits your time and budget.

No. Prova prepares you for the CIPLE. The certificate comes from passing the exam itself. Prova is not affiliated with CAPLE, AIMA or the Portuguese government.
A2 is the usual proof of Portuguese for nationality, permanent residence and long-term resident status. The nationality law in force since 19 May 2026 also asks for knowledge of Portuguese culture and civic rights, and the rules on how to prove it were still unpublished in October 2026. Citizens of Portuguese-speaking countries are presumed to know the language. Check your own case with AIMA or IRN.
The CIPLE costs 95 € and you register online with CAPLE (Universidade de Lisboa). In Portugal there are sessions most months; abroad, in May, July and November. Places sell out, so book early. Results take about 7–8 weeks and the certificate never expires.
Take the free level test. If you're new to Portuguese, start with A1 Beginner: 8 units from your first words to simple conversations. Then move on to A2 · CIPLE for the exam, or get both together in the A1 + A2 bundle.

If you can attend classes, it's a good option and it's free. Prova suits people who prefer to study on their own schedule and sit the CIPLE exam.
